When Conventional Design Practices began to feel somewhat superficial & not so holistic in approach, NPD™ began the search for ways to address design projects in a new, revolutionary way - blending the Art of Design, Neuroscience, Ancient Science & Wisdom of Vastu Shastra.

The Art of Interior Design

Familiar ideas about how the practice of interior design exists to make spaces functional, safe, & beautiful by means of color, texture, furnishings, lighting, art, & so forth.

The goal of Interior Designers is to tell stories & mirror the places we’ve been before, but also leave an impression of their own.

Running an interior design business is challenging because we get pulled in so many directions, therefore, we decided to pause & reevaluate what actually matters when creating a meaningful design experience for our clients.

Neuroaesthetics

Neuroaesthetics is a field of experimental science that aims to combine neuro-psychological research with aesthetics. It investigates the ‘perception, production, & response to art, as well as interactions with objects & scenes that evoke an intense feeling, often of pleasure’. In simple terms, neuroaesthetics explores the effect that beauty & art have on the human brain & our sense of well-being.

Vastu Shastra

Literally - "science of architecture"

Origin - sacred literature between 1500 and 500 BCE.

The traditional Indian system of architecture is based on ancient texts that describe principles of design, layout, measurements, ground preparation, space arrangement, & spatial geometry.

NP DEZIGN™ new process begins & ends with a Vastu Shastra expert, covering the layer of design that is unseen by the naked eye. Optimizing the space in relation to the four cardinal directions (North, South, East, & West) to magnify the benefits of solar energy.

A simple example of applying Vastu in the furniture arrangement would be the principle of placing the headboard of the bed in any direction but the North. Due to the magnetic fields of the Earth, laying your head towards the north results in access to blood flow into the brain & depending on the strength of your system-, this can result in nightmares, trouble getting quality sleep, a foggy brain during the day, and even stroke or death.
